Sandee and Robert have been breeding birds since 1983 and parrotlets exclusively since 986. They own The Parrotlet Ranch in Aptos, California, which is certified under the Model Aviculture Program. Sandeed has been cerified by the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council under the Avian Specialist program. Sandee is also the co-founder of the International Parrotlet Society. She has worked with national and international avicultural organizations including the American Zoo Association. She has sat on the boards of many aviculture organizatons. She is well published in many national and international publications and presented at numerous conferences. Sandee and Robert have authored Parrotlet Handbook and About Parrotlets. They have also contributed to other author's work including, Guide to Companion Parrot Behaviour by Mattie Sue Athan and Generic Genetics by Pilo Suarez. Sandee is also knowlegable in the area of care of birds during human-made disasters, handfeeding, transportation of birds and legislation.
