CPSW History
The CPSW was formed in 1997 and held its first symposium in 1998. The CPSW was formed through an inspiration from Jackie Blackburn’s Canadian Parrot Symposium East.
The CPSW calls Victoria, BC, Canada its home and presents its symposiums here at the lovely Dunsmuir Lodge. A small hands-on Board of Directors manages the CPSW.
The CPSW has had 4 successful symposiums to date and have an exciting one planned for this year. Each year between 100 and 120 people were in attendance to hear the speakers present on a wide variety of topics. Each symposium includes an impressive line up of speakers who generally presented twice during the weekend and are available for informal conversations. (Previous Years) In 1999 and 2000, the CPSW added a Professional Veterinarian Program. This added a great deal to the weekend, bringing in renown veterinarians who presented to both qualified and training veterinarians.
